This section is designed to help you put a fomat and structure
to your Bible Studies. I have made a Bible Study System designed
to help you systematically read and learn the Torah and the entire
bible. It is based off of the Torah Reading Cycle that
has been in place fo hundreds of years. It is a reding cycle that
has you read certain sections of the Torah (1st five book of the
Bible) each week called the Parasha or Parashot meaning
portions. The sames sections are read in synagogues, churches,
and fellowships all over the world and there is a schedule and
calendar with the reading dates and portions in various places
on the web. Some include the New Testament readings
also but I have found them lacking and will be working on my own
New Testament readings to add to it soon.
The advantage of being on the same reading schedule is fist is
gives structure to your Bible study, and second there are many
people looking at and talking about the same portion of the text
so you should have no problem understanding it and getting insight
from others. The portion is broken up into 7 readers and a haftarah
portion from the writings and prophets in the Old Testament or Tanach.
What I have done is broken down the 7 readers into two parts a
morning and evening part. This is designed to go with the morning
and evening prayers. It is a great time to pray with your family
and study a small portion of the Torah. Kids can get involved too
I have made a Kids version with coloring pages for the kids to
follow along so we don't forget them. This will posted online as
they are finished. The Bible study binder sytem for adults and
children have taken me more than a year and a half and are still
being developed. As I finish portions I will make them available.
It is designed with the whole family in mind and in small bites
so it's not overwhelming. The result should be that husbands know
the Torah from their own studies not relying on
pastors and teachers to be their only source of undertanding of
the word of Elohim (God) and the husbands can
teach their wives and the children can learn with Mom and Dad.
I broke the readers up into morning and evening portions and in
the kids section they also have the scripture references under
the coloring pages so small children can see the pictures and older
children can read the summary, and older children can lookup the
verses that go with the pictures. The adult binder system has the King
James Version of the Bible almost double spaced so you
can actually look at line by line and I designed a system of marking
the text to be able to clearly see the text and what is being said.
Once you get in this habit you will get much more out of yoru Bible
studies and will havea way better comprehension of what you have
read. The key also is you can go back over the same portion next
year and know you thoughts and questions. This becomes a treasure
that gets richer every year and something you can pass on to your
children.
Watch the video above to get an idea about what
I'm talking about. If your serious about knowing the word of God
and are tired of being led astray by all the pastos and self apointed
teachers then start your own bible study and you'll find the ich
rewards that lay in the pages of the Bible. I have been doing this
for years and it's the single biggest impact I have made on my
understanding. I will be releasing some further resources as this
project continues and all of it is available online for free. As Moshe (Moses)
said, "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." I
have found this so true and in the Messianic and Torah
Observant Movement I have seen that everyone wants to
follow a few teachers and hear the new hot theory on the internet
but the real problem is they either want to be lazy and follow
others, or they are easily misled because they have no foundation
in Torah themselves. They end up listening to others and only opening
the bible to try and justify their pre conceived beliefs. We have
to build our house on the rock and that i the truth. Not that you
got from someone else but that you found in the word of God yourself.
I hope and pray you will take the time to get real about whether
you can explain your faith from your own studies or if your just
a repeater of cliches and theories of your religion. Shalom!
