Starting a fellowhip
can seem like a hard and overwhelming task. I have helped
start two fellowships myself and have an ides about the ups
and downs and things needed. Starting a fellowship is often
the best answer if you don't have a felowship around you o
if you don't agree with or seem to fit into the ones around
you. Remember the reason to build a fellowship is to have
a place for you and like minded people to come together and
share and support each other. I have seen first hand how out
of hand some churches or fellowships can get if not built
on some basic sound principles.
How do you know if you can do it or not? Well, it's really
not that tough and takes very little resouces. You ight look
around at some of the churches and think I can't or don't
want to build something that big. But the nice thing is size
doesn't matter. If you have just a bible in hand you can start
a fellowship. That being said structure and a few tools will
certainly help you along the way. I am a big beleiver in the
home fellowships. I have seen the lust for building the big
congregation and just look at all the churches you will pobably
see smiling happy faces but behind the scenes ther is backbiting
and politics in almost every church I have seen. This is another
reason I prefer the home fellowship. Something about a building
takes on a life of it's own then the people start wanting
to fight over who is in charge and what everyone has to beleive
and how they have to dress. What happened to friends coming
together and shareing what they have learned and supporting
each other.
I will give you a basic outline of what I find important
in starting a fellowship and also some free tools to help
you create a fellowship and bible study welcoming and fruitful.
Will also provide some links to resources and can even help
you build a website for your congregation. Stay tuned as I
update this page.Shalom! |
