Getting the Leaven Out
Reply Quote

Shalom all,

Well Passover is almost upon us and as I spent all day working on cleaning and finding the leaven, I am reminded also of the sin we have in our lives. How many of us actually work as hard at finding little sins and sins tucked away in our lives that we wouldn't even notice if we didn't go looking. I try and take this time as I'm searching for leaven and working on cleaning the house to reexamine even the things in the house.

Are they honoring to God, would he find it offensive. It's a great time to take inventory and look at movies you own, tv shows you watch, books you own, music, pictures, clothes, re evaluate your house and look for things that may not be holy. A great example of such an item is: We have these starbucks stainless steel coffee mugs. On top is a picture of the starbucks logo which is a mermaid with two tails. This is actually a pagan god. I took my dremel and ground off the image. It may be like an old comic collection I own that needs to get thrown away as many of the comics have magic and pagan god references. These are just examples of things in my personal life that I have noticed.

I believe if we are to be more holy every year we should reexamine our household and the things we do and have to make sure their is nothing offensive that we should clear out. Just like the temple it went through a period of sanctification and consecration before God dwelt in it and I think our households are the same way. Lets really get the leaven out, and I encourage you to reevaluate your household and the things in it and make sure they are not offensive to God. I also encourage you before Passover to post the ten commandments on your door posts of your house if you haven't already done this. This was likened to the blood of the lamb and necessary to keep the angel of death from entering your house. If you haven't done it already type it in and print it off your computer, you can laminate it and tack it to the door. I have one I will be selling online soon that is skinny and has all ten commandments with the Fathers name in Hebrew that fits on the door trim. The Mezuzah's usually don't have the actual ten commandments in them. inside is the instruction verse to post them on the doorpost but not actually the commandments. I will post a topic on this in the forum soon. But for now. May you have a great Passover and remember the great sacrifice and Blood(teachings) that Messiah gave.Shalom!

A disciple should diligently search for the truth and humbly deny and reconsider it's possession.
