Vayigash "And came near"
Gen 44:18 - 47:27 , Eze 37:15-28
Reader 1 (Evening Portion)
Gen 44:18 Then Yahudah came near unto him, and said, Oh my adon, let your servant, I pray you, speak a word in my adon's ears, and let not your anger burn against your servant: for you are even as Pharaoh.
Gen 44:19 My adon asked his servants, saying, Have you a father, or a brother?
Gen 44:20 And we said unto my adon, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.
Gen 44:21 And you said unto your servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set my eyes upon him.
Gen 44:22 And we said unto my adon, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.
Gen 44:23 And you said unto your servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, you shall see my face no more.
(Morning Portion)
Gen 44:24 And it came to pass when we came up unto your servant my father, we told him the words of my adon.
Gen 44:25 And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.
Gen 44:26 And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us.
Gen 44:27 And your servant my father said unto us, You know that my wife bore me two sons:
Gen 44:28 And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:
Gen 44:29 And if you take this also from me, and mischief befall him, you shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
Gen 44:30 Now therefore when I come to your servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;
Reader 2 (Evening Portion)
Gen 44:31 It shall come to pass, when he sees that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and your servants shall bring down the gray hairs of your servant our father with sorrow to the grave.
Gen 44:32 For your servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto you, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.
Gen 44:33 Now therefore, I pray you, let your servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my adon; and let the lad go up with his brethren.
Gen 44:34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.
Gen 45:1 Then Yosef could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Yosef made himself known unto his brethren.
Gen 45:2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.
(Morning Portion)
Gen 45:3 And Yosef said unto his brethren, I am Yosef; does my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
Gen 45:4 And Yosef said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Yosef your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
Gen 45:5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me hither: for Elohim did send me before you to preserve life.
Gen 45:6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
Gen 45:7 And Elohim sent me before you to preserve you a remnant in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
Reader 3 (Evening Portion)
Gen 45:8 So now it was not you that sent me here, but Elohim: and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and adonai of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Gen 45:9 Haste you, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith your son Yosef, Elohim has made me adon of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:
Gen 45:10 And you shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near unto me, you, and your children, and your children's children, and your flocks, and your herds, and all that you have:
Gen 45:11 And there will I nourish you; for yet there are five years of famine; lest you, and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty.
Gen 45:12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benyamin, that it is my mouth that speaks unto you.
Gen 45:13 And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen; and you shall haste and bring down my father here.
(Morning Portion)
Gen 45:14 And he fell upon his brother Benyamin's neck, and wept; and Benyamin wept upon his neck.
Gen 45:15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and after that his brethren talked with him.
Gen 45:16 And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Yosef's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
Gen 45:17 And Pharaoh said unto Yosef, Say unto thy brethren, This do you; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Kena'an;
Gen 45:18 And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat the fat of the land.
Reader 4 (Evening Portion)
Gen 45:19 Now you are commanded, this do you; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
Gen 45:20 Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
Gen 45:21 And the children of Yisra'el did so: and Yosef gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
Gen 45:22 To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benyamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.
Gen 45:23 And to his father he sent after this manner; ten donkeys laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she donkeys laden with grain and bread and food for his father by the way.
Gen 45:24 So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that you fall not out by the way.
(Morning Portion)
Gen 45:25 And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Kena'an unto Ya'akov their father,
Gen 45:26 And told him, saying, Yosef is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Ya'akov's heart fainted, for he believed them not.
Gen 45:27 And they told him all the words of Yosef, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Yosef had sent to carry him, the spirit of Ya'akov their father revived:
Reader 5 (Evening Portion)
Gen 45:28 And Yisra'el said, It is enough; Yosef my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.
Gen 46:1 And Yisra'el took his journey with all that he had, and came to Be'er-Sheva, and offered sacrifices unto the Elohim of his father Yitzchak.
Gen 46:2 And Elohim spake unto Yisra'el in the visions of the night, and said, Ya'akov, Ya'akov. And he said, Here am I.
Gen 46:3 And he said, I am Elohim, the Elohim of your father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of you a great nation:
Gen 46:4 I will go down with you into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Yosef shall put his hand upon your eyes.
(Morning Portion)

Gen 46:31 And Yosef said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and show Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Kena'an, are come unto me;
Gen 46:32 And the men are shepherds, for their trade has been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
Gen 46:33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
Gen 46:34 That you shall say, Your servants' trade has been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
Gen 47:1 Then Yosef came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Kena'an; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.
Gen 47:2 And he took some of his brethren, even five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.
Gen 47:3 And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Your servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.
Gen 47:4 They said moreover unto Pharaoh, For to sojourn in the land are we come; for your servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Kena'an: now therefore, we pray you, let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.
Gen 47:5 And Pharaoh spoke unto Yosef, saying, Your father and your brethren are come unto you:

Gen 47:10 And Ya'akov blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.
Reader 7 (6th Day Morning Portion)
Gen 47:11 And Yosef placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Ra'meses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
Gen 47:12 And Yosef nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to their families.
Gen 47:13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Kena'an fainted by reason of the famine.
Gen 47:14 And Yosef gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Kena'an, for the grain which they bought: and Yosef brought the money into Pharaoh's house.
Gen 47:15 And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Kena'an, all the Egyptians came unto Yosef, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in your presence? for the money fails.
Gen 47:16 And Yosef said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.
Gen 47:17 And they brought their cattle unto Yosef: and Yosef gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the donkeys: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.
Gen 47:18 When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my adon also has our herds of cattle; there is nothing left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
Gen 47:19 Wherefore shall we die before your eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
Gen 47:20 And Yosef bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh's.
Gen 47:21 And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.
Gen 47:22 Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.
Gen 47:23 Then Yosef said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.
Gen 47:24 And it shall come to pass in the increase, that you shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.
Gen 47:25 And they said, You have saved our lives: let us find favor in the sight of my adon, and we will be Pharaoh's servants.
Gen 47:26 And Yosef made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh's.
Gen 47:27 And Yisra'el dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.
Haftarah (Shabbat Evening Portion)
Eze 37:15 The word of YHWH came again unto me, saying,
Eze 37:16 Moreover, you son of man, take you one stick, and write upon it, For Yahudah, and for the children of Yisra'el his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Yosef, the stick of Efrayim, and for all the house of Yisra'el his companions:
Eze 37:17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in your hand.
Eze 37:18 And when the children of your people shall speak unto you, saying, Will you not shew us what you mean by these?
Eze 37:19 Say unto them, Thus saith YHWH Elohim; Behold, I will take the stick of Yosef, which is in the hand of Efrayim, and the tribes of Yisra'el his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Yahudah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.
Eze 37:20 And the sticks where you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.
Eze 37:21 And say unto them, Thus saith YHWH Elohim; Behold, I will take the children of Yisra'el from among the heathen, where they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
Eze 37:22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Yisra'el; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
Eze 37:23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, where they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their Elohim.
Eze 37:24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
Eze 37:25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Ya'akov my servant, where your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
Eze 37:26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
Eze 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.
Eze 37:28 And the heathen shall know that I YHWH do sanctify Yisra'el, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
