Rebuilding the Temple

Joh 2:18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

Joh 2:19 Yahushua answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Joh 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

Joh 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

Joh 2:22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Yahushua had said.

I believe this is a prophecy of the rebuilding of the temple in the millenium which also models the ressurection of Messiah. Let's look at a few things first. When he says destroy this temple it says he is talking about his body. What or who is his body?

Rom 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

1Co 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

1Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

If we are his body, then what does that mean when they distroyed his body by crucifying him, what did they do to his followers at the same time?

Mat 26:31 Then saith Yahushua unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

Mar 14:27 And Yahushua saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

Interesting that the body of Messiah is Scattered and then he says that in 3 days he will reassemble it

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psa 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

So if a day=1000 years to God, which also explains the Millenium or Sabbath of Rest being 1000 years is really to God 1 day the seventh day.

Then what this prophecy may also be saying is: From the time of the Scattering of the Flock at Messiah's death, in 3000 years his body or flock will be gathered and reassembled as One (Echad) body and this is the model of the temple. So if we know 1000 of those years is the millenium which happens after the regathering of the people or parts of the temple, parts of his body, then in the 1000 years he will reassmble and build his body again and his Fathers house. The significance of this is that 3000 minus the 1000 for the millenium leaves 2000 years or 2 days until his return. If you calculate that from the time of his death, which with most arguments is at the earliest 27 AD most think 30AD and some think as late as 33AD then you have the return of Messiah for the sabbath and millenium happening around 2027 , 2030 (I think most likely), or 2033. Now of course if you die before then the timing doesn't matter but this is my take on it. Check out my study on the forums called we are the temple. Shalom

Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up

I don't know about this interpretation.

He said he would be in the heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights. Does that mean he won't be 'resurrected', or regather Yisrael, until AFTER the millennium?

It depends how you interpret that. Many people interpret things literally, and some spiritually, but though I believe there is always a literal and spiritual interpretation they are seperate and you can't mix them. This is why when Messiah said unless you eat of my flesh and drink of my blood you will in no wise enter the kingdom. He was speaking spiritually. There is a literal application but you can't use the spiritual application literally or it would violate Torah. So when he says he will be in the heart of the earth 3 days and three nights how I would interpret this is that a study on the word heart in the scripture will lead you to the spirit. the Earth represents the flesh. So he is saying he will be in the spirit of the earth or the flesh of man for 3 days. This is infering to the holy spirit that is being taught for the 2 days he's gone plus the main focus of the millenium. I belive He is coming back to work on the spirit of Torah in all flesh and the millenium is included in this.As a healer he is literally rebuilding the temple of the holy spirit or presence of God from his death until we enter into the kingdom. That is my interpretation. Shalom

I quote you, "So when he says he will be in the heart of the earth 3 days and three nights how I would interpret this is that a study on the word heart in the scripture will lead you to the spirit. the Earth represents the flesh. So he is saying he will be in the spirit of the earth or the flesh of man for 3 days. This is infering to the holy spirit that is being taught for the 2 days he's gone plus the main focus of the millenium."

That's a real stretch. Of course, that's just MY interpretation, and I could be wrong.

But I doubt it.
