Tetzaveh Parasha Thoughts, Studies, and Comments
Reply Quote

The goal of this section is to get everybody's studies, thoughts, and opinions on anything in the weeks parasha. This includes, word studies, thoughts on verses, history, related subjects, and anything that may help us to understand this Torah Portion. Even if it's just an observation on the smallest part, it can help others who may not have seen it that way. The goal is then as we visit the parasha (Torah Portion) each year we will create a collection of studies and thoughts on this portion and everyone will benefit by having a broader view of the portion. Shalom!

- Instruction on how to make the altar of incense and where it goes
- Aharon shall offer incense morning and evening on the altar of incense and shall atone for it with blood once a year
- Haftarah - The pattern of the temple and the altar shown to Yisra'el so that they may be ashamed and the consecration of it

In this weeks parasha we have the consecration of the high priest and priests, their garments, and the daily offerings commanded. Last week we were given the instruction or pattern of the tabernacle and this week we see how one looks who serves in it, what they wear and how they are originally set apart , then right off the bat we are given the command for the continual daily offerings. The haftarah then eludes to the key to this portion in that the pattern of the temple and altar are shown so Yisra'el would be ashamed.

This word pattern is tabneet which means model, structure, or pattern and comes fromt he root banah meaning to build. This worn is also the root for son with the spelling beyt, nun, hay which in the pictographs can mean house, seed, revealed. This is very interesting as it may be seen as Messiah said who is mother who is my brother, those who do the will of my Father in heaven. So the son of his house are revealed banah these are the builders of his house or pattern. Those who follow His pattern are his sons. The interesting thing here is that in the very word son(banah) is the explaination of Isaiah 56 saying anyone who doesn't pollute the sabbath, takes hold of His covenant, and does things that please Him shall get a name better than sons and daughters. They would be Banah, or builders of His house. the revealing of his sons is one of the great mysteries of life. As the parable of the wheat and tares is all about the mystery of who is Elohim's children and who are the children of satan. When Messiah asks who out fo the two sons did the will of His father I think he is eluding to this mystery. On the surface it seems both are his sons, but according to Messiah's teachings the one who did the will of his father is the true family member. By nature of the construction of the word son we find a riddle and the definition is the one who build his fathers house. So how does this apply to this parasha?

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

So in many ways there are two temple and two sons, one who worships YHWH and one who woships satan. Each one follows a pattern. our actions follow a pattern. Righteousness is a pattern of choices as is wickedness. We study the scritptures to find the pattern of righteousness and to follow it in our lives thus becoming the sons of YHWH. There are two nations in the womb on good and one evil. They are struggling within us and to the one who overcomes wickedness they will be born a son of Elohim.

How did the original disciples and followers of Messiah know who he was if it was not that he followed the pattern of Elohim and the pattern of the Messiah and high priest and by doing this He revealed who he was. Remember the hay in the word banah the house seed revealed. This is one fo the important reasons we must leanr to observe the patterns of scripture because in them we will find Messiah and the pattern of building our own tabernacle. Whose house will you build? And who will be honored in your pattern. Elohim or satan?

This parasha speaks to the pattern of garments for those who serve in His house. Both the High Priest (Yahushua) and the regular priests. These details are important because they are what to look for in finding Messiah. We must learn their significance in order to reeive eyes that see him. There are two patterns we must get right in my opinion. The pattern of Messiah so that we may recognize Him and the pattern of the tabernacle so that we may follow it and thus be a part of his house. The ministers or priests are the ones who served the tabernacle. In the same way a wife serves her husband the priests served. They cared for, protected, sanctified, worshiped, and taught in the temple. notice how the scriptures alude to this in two teachings. One is

Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Model of husband and wife is throughout the temple. There are two models in which we both play the role of husband and wife but the pattern of the two stays the same. The Temple is like the wife and YHWH is like the husband. It serves Him and He enters into it. The Temple like us must be clean and holy according to the pattern. Messiah is like the husband also as the High Priest and the regular priests are like the wife. they are helpers and the High Priest is of Higher authority though He also is a servant. Just as the priests are servants and yet have a higher authority over the people. In each position your are made authority of some and come under authority of others. Seeking this balance of being a righteous servant and just ruler is one of the fundamental balances we must master in our families. if our body is the temple and we are to care for just as our wifes we see also the pattern that we are to cleanse is and make it a holy place for YHWH to dwell. Thus the verses in

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

This process of cleansing the temple and the priests is what this weeks parasha is about. The sons and wife are revealed in the pattern they follow. To go along with this verse above so also were the priests to wash themselves at the door before entering in Ex 29:4. Messiah washes the assembly and we wash our own bodies, all these things are what is happening to the wife which represents the outside of our bodies which is in submission to the inside of our bodies. This husband wife relationship is found in the pattern of heaven and earth. The two witnesses and to be true the earth needs to be as the heavens, as the it says in the Lord's prayer may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This is to say may my wife honor you as I honor you. I think this is a great mystery. You sould see Messiah saying the same thing when He said I would that you were one with me as I am one with the Father. He is the son of Elohim as we learned earlier by being one with His pattern a builder of His Fathers house after the Father's pattern. Then for us to be one with Him as His wife we would also need to be cleansed and follow the pattern of our husband being one with Him as He is one with His Father. This buildning the tabernacle after the pattern and then making it holy follows the pattern of Messiah, the pattern of being a son of Elohim, and the pattern of being a wife joined to her husband. We find it again in the priesthood. High Priest is set apart and has the most set apart garments (which represents righteousness) and the priests have set apart garments also but they are different than that of the High Priest.

Let's look at the morning and evening sacrifices and there relavance in this theme. Latley I have been rising in the morning and saying my prayers, blessing the bread and wine and remembering the commandments and sacrifice of Messiah. This follows the pattern of the dail offerings of Incense which represents our prayers and that is verified in Rev 5:8, and 8:4, and then the remembering of the commandments which follows the pattern of the lamp and the light of Prov 6:23, then I bless the bread which is fine flour representing the word of Elohim or seed broken down or studies deeply the fine flour mingled with oil the right spirit, and baked tested to produce something both hardened(established) and to go through the testing. We are to be such people with the letter and spirit of the Torah and found pleasing before YHWH. Next is the wine. this represents the blood and teachings of Elohim. The life is in the blood or teachings and it is shed for us to have life, life for life is the concept of letting your light shine for others to see who are in darkness or death. I then finish with a rememberance of the lamb of first year that is ever giving His life and teachings for us before YHWH. All of the time I face the west as this would be the direction the priests would face when looking toward the holy of holies. When you start doing this you will be getting up while it is yet night to prepare food for your husband. There is an interesting tie in with the wife in thise sense.

Pro 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth food to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

As a matter of fact there are many things in the proverb of the virtuous woman that fits the priests duties to the temple.

Pro 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Here we see a hint to the Menorah that was ever burning

Pro 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
Pro 31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is fine twined linen and purple.

The three words used here for her coverings is the same three as Ex 25 describing the covering of the tabernacle. The only one not mentioned is the blue.

Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

This is an interesting staement in that Messiah who is the husband of the wife is also known in the gates, The gates being the places of judgment, and this is the same gates of judges outside the tabernacle walls. So this statement is saying that her husbands judgments is known in the gates and all that she does, she does according to her husbands will, even the way she interprets information. She of couse follows the pattern of her husband and so we see one of the greatest models in scripture and that is embodied in the word meen which means after it's kind. when Messiah says you'll know a tree by it's fruit it is saying meen, things produce after their kind. So if we are a child of Elohim we will build His house and follow his patterns, of we are a wife of Messiah we will follow His patterns and build his house giving Him honor and respect and teaching it to our children. This is what Messiah is doing with us and what we should be doing with our wives. they should be one with us as we are one with Messiah. This I beleive is the pattern of the temple that when revealed we will be ashamed of. The fact is many people think they are doing Elohims will and when compared to the pattern will be found flawed and many think they are good husbands and wives and yet when compared to the pattern will be found not one with messiah and not one with their husbands. We all need to rethink what we are doing in our households to build this relationship. Men with Messiah and their wives and wives with their husbands and children. Do you spend time to build your wife to think like you. Wives do you teach your children to be like their father. Husbands do you study to find and follow the patterns of Elohim. I fear we all may be ashamed when we see the standard and pattern of what we and our families should be like. Let's make an effort to address these issues and make changes to our patterns seting apart time to work on these things each week. Shalom
