As a Child
For the Book of Shemot
By Lovingneighbor 2006-7

This Study is on the book of Exodus also called Shemot which means 'Names'. In this book we have written the studies:

- Names - Parasha Shemot
- Listen and See - Parasha Va'era
- Come Out* - Parasha Bo
- Salvation* - Parasha Beshelach
- Learning to Walk* - Parasha Yitro
- How to Rule* - Parasha Mishpatim
- I am the Temple of God* - Parasha Terumah
- In His Presence* - Parasha Tetzaveh
- Testing* - Ki Tisa
- His Holy Things - Parasha Vayak'hel/Pekudei

In this book we see the most basic of messages and that is of the birth of a child. We see not only the birth of Moshe but the birth or rebirth of the Children of Yisra'el who were in slavery. Fitting the book of Shemot means exodus. This is also like the birth process. It starts with Yisra'el in the womb of bondage which models Miryam which means rebellion. Then the baby or Yisra'el must hear and see, developing basic things in the womb, then Yisra'el after 10 plagues which models the ten degrees of dialation finally comes out and breathes it's first breath of air. The baby just like Yisra'el cannot stay any longer in Egypt and is thrust out in pain and suffering of Egypt. The birth is like Salvation. It survived the trouble and pressing of being born.

Next Yisra'el like the baby learned to walk. The ability to learn how to walk also leads to new discoveries. This is like studying torah. From there Yisra'el learns how to rule and how to measure things based on the Torah. Then they realize the value of such great rulings and judgments and see the patterns of heavenly things and thus see that they are the temple of Elohim. This requires holiness and cleanness. In His presence they realize the magnitude of His holiness and the requirment of their own cleanness.

From there we see them getting tested with many things and thus learn about His holy things. The seriousness of the temple both physical and spiritual and the pattern of how we must be careful with our own body and spirits to make sure they are a suitable place for Elohim to dwell. In the end we see Yisra'el from beginning to adult brought from the womb to the time of accountability as they enter the promised land as men that started as children. it reminds me of the words of the master to Nicodemus

Joh 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
Joh 3:2 The same came to Yahushua by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from Elohim: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except Elohim be with him.
Joh 3:3 Yahushua answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Elohim.
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5 Yahushua answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of Elohim.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, You must be born again.
Joh 3:8 The wind blowd where it listeth, and you hear the sound thereof, but can not tell where it comes, and where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus didn't understand the pattern in my opinion. It is the pattern that must take place and so one must come out of Egypt and that is like repentance and after repenting must listen and see and come out in the appointed time. They must learn to walk, and learn to rule, and be a dwelling place for Elohim and be holy in His presence, make it through their time of testing and be His holy things Sons of the Living Elohim! Shalom
A disciple should diligently search for the truth and humbly deny and reconsider it's possession.
